KATEY ASPELING is a young, extraordinary talent with a burning passion to create her own style of music. She is a talented songwriter & extraordinary vocalist. In 2008 she travelled to the US to check the music scene out and while there attended an intense 10 day singer/songwriter seminar in Bel Air, California. She has been invited back to further develop her singing & songwriting technique with some well known industry people.

While at the seminar she was selected out of the 200 attendees to be one of 10 performers to perform on the final night (view video below). While primely an R & B/Pop performer, Katey choose to perform the Eva Cassidy version of the ballad, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, to showcase her talents as a singer.

For the moment, Katey wants to take it one step at a time and not become tied to a particular record label, rather, her wish is to work independently and see where the path takes her.

She has performed in a locally produced stage production at the Gold Coast Arts Centre, and is currently performing in private corporate gigs in her beautiful, sub-tropical hometown of the Gold Coast, located in South East Queensland, Australia. Katey says she get's her songwriting inspiration by being close to the gorgeous white sandy beaches and the blue ocean.
